Understanding how player actions translate to fantasy points
At Game On Real Sports, we've designed a comprehensive point system that rewards players for a wide range of basketball actions. Our system is designed to value both offensive and defensive contributions, creating a balanced fantasy experience that mirrors real basketball strategy.
Points are calculated in real-time based on official NBA statistics, ensuring accuracy and fairness in all contests.
Standard Scoring System

| Double-Double (any two categories of 10+) | 1.5 bonus points |
| Triple-Double (any three categories of 10+) | 3.0 bonus points |
Special Contest Scoring
For certain specialty contests, we may use alternative scoring systems that emphasize different aspects of the game. These variations will be clearly noted in the contest description.
Sharpshooter Contests
These contests emphasize shooting efficiency:
- Field Goal Made: 2 points
- 3-Point Field Goal Made: 3 points
- Free Throw Made: 1 point
- Field Goal Missed: -0.5 points
- Free Throw Missed: -1 point
Playmaker Contests
These contests emphasize ball distribution and court vision:
- Assist: 2 points
- Potential Assist: 0.5 points
- Hockey Assist (pass leading to assist): 1 point
- Points Created from Assists: 0.25 points per point
- Turnover: -1 point
Defensive Specialist Contests
These contests emphasize defensive contributions:
- Steal: 3 points
- Block: 3 points
- Defensive Rebound: 1.5 points
- Contested Shot: 0.5 points
- Deflection: 0.5 points
- Charge Taken: 2 points
Point Calculation Example
To help illustrate how our point system works, here's an example of a fantasy point calculation for a player's performance:
Player Stats:
- 25 points (including five 3-pointers)
- 8 rebounds
- 10 assists
- 2 steals
- 1 block
- 3 turnovers
Fantasy Points Calculation:
- Points: 25 × 1.0 = 25.0
- 3-Point Bonus: 5 × 0.5 = 2.5
- Rebounds: 8 × 1.25 = 10.0
- Assists: 10 × 1.5 = 15.0
- Steals: 2 × 2.0 = 4.0
- Blocks: 1 × 2.0 = 2.0
- Turnovers: 3 × (-0.5) = -1.5
- Double-Double Bonus (points and assists): 1.5
Total Fantasy Points: 58.5
